The NEET UG 2026 registration is officially live and the clock is ticking for medical aspirants across India. NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test), is the gateway exam students need to clear to pursue medicine, dental sciences and allied health courses like BAMS, BHMS, BSc Nursing at colleges nationwide. Conducted by the National Testing Agency, it remains one of the most significant exams for Class 12 students with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in their curriculum.
The registration window opened on 8 February 2026 and will close on 8 March 2026. That gives students exactly one month to complete their application, upload documents and pay the fee before the deadline. And if you miss the window and you miss the attempt. It is that simple.
The application fee varies by category. General category candidates are required to pay around ₹1700, while OBC and EWS candidates need to pay approximately ₹1600. For SC, ST, PwBD and third gender candidates, the fee is around ₹1000. Candidates applying from outside India are required to pay a higher fee of ₹9500.
In terms of eligibility, students must have completed or be appearing for Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Candidates should be at least 17 years old by the end of the year of admission, and there is no upper age limit.
This year, the document requirements come with a few important updates. Students need to upload scanned copies of their Class 10 marksheet and certificate, passport size photograph, postcard size photograph, signature, left and right thumb impressions, and a valid identity proof. Category certificates are required for reserved category candidates. Aadhaar based verification and live photograph capture during registration have also been introduced to strengthen identity checks.
The NEET UG 2026 examination is scheduled to be held on 3 May 2026. With the registration window now open, students are advised to complete the process early and avoid unnecessary last minute stress, so that their focus can remain on preparation rather than paperwork. All the best !
