Final Call: CLAT 2026 Application Deadline is Oct 31

First, the big picture: What exactly is the CLAT?

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is the one big, mandatory exam you have to clear if you want to get into any of India’s top government law schools, i.e., the National Law Universities (NLUs). Think of it as the single door to getting your 5-year law degree from the best institutions.

Who's Eligible to Apply?

Before you hit 'submit,' make sure you meet the basic requirements. For the 5-Year Law Course (UG):

  • You must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent exam. If you are currently in Class 12, you can apply (you'll need to show your passing certificate later).

  • Minimum Marks in Class 12:

  1. General / OBC / Others: At least 45% aggregate marks.

  2. SC / ST / PwD Candidates: At least 40% aggregate marks.

  • Age Limit: There is no upper age limit.

The Current Situation: Do Not Miss This Date

The most important information right now is the deadline. The online application window is closing soon, and there won't be an extension:

  • Last Day to Apply Online: October 31, 2025

  • The Exam Date: December 7, 2025 (Sunday, 2 PM to 4 PM)

Where to Apply: consortiumofnlus.ac.in . Aspirants should go to the official website and complete their registration well before the deadline. Waiting until the last evening is a recipe for server disaster!

Here is the fee you need to pay online to submit your form:

  • General/OBC/NRI Candidates: ₹4,000/-

  • SC/ST/BPL Candidates: ₹3,500/-

Get the application done, and you can switch your brain entirely to studying for the December 7th test. Good luck with the final stretch of your prep!
